Sports Journalism and Multimedia Journalism Student Introduction
During my three years at Arizona State University, after transferring from the University of Nevada, Reno in the spring of 2022, I have gained extensive experience in sports journalism and media production through a variety of hands-on opportunities.
Early on, I covered ASU spring football practices, developing my reporting and storytelling skills while gaining valuable experience covering college athletics. I later interned as both a journalist and videographer, honing my ability to tell compelling stories through writing and video production. I also helped record postgame ASU men’s basketball press conferences, filming the head coach and players throughout the season to provide high-quality content for local media outlets. I recently completed my professional program with Cronkite News and PBS, where I have spent most of the summer working as a sports reporter and broadcaster. In this role, I produced sports packages, pitched story ideas, shot and edited video, wrote many different scripts, and delivered reports post event coverage. I also gained valuable experience helping record a live news broadcast inside the newsroom, which strengthened my understanding of production and teamwork in a professional environment. Altogether, these experiences have prepared me to cover sports across platforms and deliver stories that connect with diverse audiences in a clear, engaging way. |
